WHAT IS IT I MUST DO FOR THEE, DEAR, DEAR, MORRISSEY
THE CHANGING FACE(S) OF STEVEN PATRICK
This article featured in the one-off fanzine Sounds Like Morrissey (produced by none other than Mark "Smiths Indeed" Taylor) way back in 1992. I originally wrote it some time in 1991, and I'm afraid it was a tad negative in nature! Soz, Moz! But as you can see, I'm still here many moons later!
I forgot that at the time I offered to assist Mark with a bit of typesetting for this excellent publication, but I found the evidence amongst some old correspondence!
Where my esteemed "writing" career began, at Almondbury in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire! Note my "famed" name of old!
This was not long after I went to see Morrissey for the first time at Wembley Arena in London in 1991, when I asked Mark if the rumours were true about him planning to produce a Morrissey Fanzine
This is the original article that I submitted to Mark, before the title was changed due to it being too unwieldy for typesetting purposes!
Mark wrote this letter to me on my 19th Birthday (10th August 1991), which was a pure coincidence! Page 1 of 2

September 10th 1991 from Mark, plans are afoot for the fanzine including me doing some more typesetting on the side!
This was not long after I saw Morrissey for the second time in 1991, at Hammersmith Odeon in London! I submitted my piece on the best gig I ever attended in my life for the fanzine, but it was too long! Story of my life! Page 1 of 2

My new occupation as a typesetter did NOT get off to the best of starts! Oops!
Typesetting DISASTER Exhibit A: Shocking stuff, the state of that!
Typesetting DISASTER Exhibit B - Close-up: What a performance!
Typesetting SUCCESS for my submission! I managed to figure it out eventually!
My final typesetting instructions from Mark for the Fanzine, late 1991/early 1992!

January 1992, and production of the fanzine is now a step closer!
Ta da! The finished product, featuring the late, great Mr Ronald Wycherley, better known as Billy Fury!
My finished article in published form, with a final change of title! Looking good, if I do say so myself! Thanks, Mark!
A mere snippet of my piece on the 1991 Hammersmith Odeon gig in London!
My "letter" re the 1991 Hammersmith Odeon gig in London in full effect!
The back cover of Sounds Like Morrissey, as typeset by Yours Truly! Got a namecheck, too!
The appropriately chosen Bristol Hippodrome flyer that Mark wrote my note on! Hi there, Mr Finney!
